What is the course about?
This course teaches the basic principles of radiation protection in relation to all standard industrial uses of ionizing radiation: Sealed radioactive sources, unsealed (open) radioactive material, and x-ray generators.

1. Radiation Awareness - X-ray
Awareness training for those working with X-rays. Topics include basic concepts, administrative requirements and practical radiation protection including monitoring techniques. A good course for users of x-ray analytical equipment and x-ray detection or inspection systems.
Course Duration – 1 – 2 Hours.

2. Radiation Awareness - Sealed Sources
Awareness training focusing on work with sealed radioactive sources. The basic concepts, administrative requirements and practical radiation protection (including monitoring techniques) are included. Ideal for those working with sealed sources in gauges and logging tools.
Course Duration – 1 – 2 Hours.

3. Radiation Awareness - Unsealed Sources
An awareness course teaching practical radiation protection for those working with unsealed (open) radioactive sources. Course material includes the basic concepts, administrative requirements, handling of waste and practical radiation protection, including both dose rate and contamination monitoring techniques. The perfect course for laboratory radioisotope users and those working with Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials.
Course Duration – 1 – 2 Hours.

3. Radiation Safety for Managers
For those who have some responsibility for radiation safety but little background knowledge of the subject. Emphasis is on regulatory requirements and the management of radiation safety in the workplace. This course is ideally suited to employers, managers and health and safety personnel.
Course Duration – 1 – 2 Hours.

What to get out of this course?
